“I hired Ulises and team for my backyard renovation project. It involved demo, building a complex 10 feet x 80feet wide concrete retaining wall with fence, walkway around the house with concrete slabs. Final output(attached pics) speaks for the excellent work they have done. Ulises has been exceptionally professional, showing up on time and easy to communicate and always suggests the client all possible options so that the client can choose what's best for them. After speaking to 4-5 GC's i chose him for his professionalism and the amazing price he offered for this scale of a project and he delivered! My neighbors also hired him seeing the work at my site. Will definitely hire him for future projects!”

“Luis and his team are top notch professionals who focus on quality. I have had the good fortune to work with him on several projects to improve my home and backyard in San Francisco. The first was a fairly complicated deck rebuild followed by my request to build a series of planters from an architect's drawings. They did such a great job on those I asked them to replace all my exterior siding and even add a window which looks marvelous. I can't recommend Form and Function Landscapes enough. My experience with Luis is he has always been fair and honest. I know I can trust him and his team of landscapers, carpenters, plumbers and electricians to do a good job.”

“My garden had good bones but the plants were all wrong. I wanted a garden that looked natural but well-kept, a tough aesthetic to pull off. I wanted lots of birds and butterflies. Mariposa Gardening has taken care of my garden for a few years now. The principal, Andrea Hurd, started by editing the original sorry collection of misplaced plants, replacing the losers with absolute winners. I now have a beautiful variety of textures, colors, shapes and sizes. Something is in bloom in all seasons. We are overrun with birds and, in season, with butterflies. Her maintenance crews have done a great job of keeping her work looking good. The trees are elegantly pruned; each one displays that gold standard "looks like it grew that way" look. Any special request that I make is quickly taken care of. Sometimes I get treats, in the form of new flowers or vegetable starts (I love foraging in my own back yard). In short I am completely happy with Mariposa Gardening and Design.”

“We hired Hortus to completely redo our backyard, from demolition, to adding new sprinklers, landscape, lights, deck, arbor, retaining walls etc. From the beginning Vijaya has been very professional, knowledgable and easy to work with. She visited the worksite several times a week, always kept me inform of the process, and answered any questions that I might have. She also showed me many samples for which I could choose the stones, light fixtures etc. Additionally, she stayed on budget. More importantly, when part of our new decked was discolored due to work on our railing, she re-sanded and re-stained the deck (even though she had sanded and stained the deck prior to the railing work) without any questions or hassles.”
