We were impressed with Chad's approach; it had the practicality we needed, but also a design sensitivity and a sense of craft that I wasn’t seeing in the other companies. His solution was creative, smart, and looks great. He worked within our budget and phased the project out. The first phase (now completed) was hardscaping, including a patio area, pathway and drainage system. The crew went beyond what was expected, and Chad was good about keeping us updated on the progress throughout the project. Overall, it was a great job and we’re looking forward to starting the next phase.”

“From the very first visit Marcia and her team took complete care of my project, listening to what input I had and realizing a joint vision for the space. Her landscape architect did a perfect job in the space, working in realtime to scope out the project and get my reactions. From there Marcia reviewed planting choices and hard surfaces. Touches like reusing a significant amount of brick from the original garden gave it a perfect blend of new and old. When it came to execution they managed to perform the entire proejct without entering my house - masterful given the 6' wall around the entire space. That level of care and attention to detail was indicative of their entire approach. I never lifted a finger or had to discuss lagging times lines. Nor was I asked to be there for any of the work. Masterful design combined with superb execution are Marcia's hallmarks. She and her team of designers, support staff and craftsmen are world class. They weeded, trimmed, replanted and checked and reset the irrigation system, and flushed and refilled the fountain. They really care that their gardens remain in great shape and I look forward to working with them for a long time to come.”

“Eric is THE best. He has done our design now at 3 home and it seems to only get better. The neat thing is that guests will comment on how comfortable the settings feel and then only later it hits them it had to be a design and then they ask us about who did it. Each place was very different and the thing I like most is he never does a "cookie cutter" like many I have seen - each place got a VERY different design. The other thing is he does help with costs by putting in designs that will grow out in 2-3 years versus "instant" if you have budgets to hit. “We bought a beautiful home that was 90% perfect. The 10% that wasn't was the front yard and driveway as the house is on a hill and it had ugly junipers on the hill front. I wanted a way to walk to the curb to get my mail and an easier access for guests parking on the street. John Strauss Associates did a great job from start to finish. John was easy to work with in the design of our new terraced front yard that included a beautiful stone staircase. His crews from the demolition of the front yard which was a juniper hill to the stonework crew did an amazing job. The curb appeal of our home now is amazing. I daily receive compliments to the improvement to our home. Absolutely recommend John and his company!
