“The crew came out and did a great job pulling out and replanting the foundation planting at my home. The pulled out 7 old azaleas and 3 newer ones, The 3 they replanted in another area for me. The new planting was done quickly and all the material appears to be doing great. The Paperbark Maple is of excellent quality and well shaped. The crew was courteous and polite. The nandinas and hydrangeas used in the new planting were of excellent quality and size. This was not contractor grade material, true nursery stock quality.”

“Hawthorne Garden Design fully redesigned our entire front garden with a wonderful plan. We sat down together and decided what was right for us, our color preferences, the amount of work we wanted to do in the garden on a regular basis (or not!) and cost. Tamara made a special trip to a quarry where she hand picked the stones that she wanted used as steps to the side garden, making sure to leave nothing to chance. “I would rate American Plant Landscaping ten stars if I could. Last spring, we purchased a beautiful fire pit from The Fire Pit Gallery -- it was really calling out for a surrounding patio. This spring, after getting estimates from several local landscapers, we hired American Plant to create a circular flagstone fire pit surround in our back garden. Before we contracted with them, I showed Tony from American Plant my Houzz ideabook, and on his first visit to our house he spent a good amount of time listening to my ideas and taking measurements. We collaborated together through emails and another planning visit & worked out a plan for a circular 18' diameter surround. Because of the slope of the yard, we included a 12' long retaining wall to be used as seating along the one side of the circumference and also a 6' long serving-height wall on the opposite side. I had a great rapport with Tony and I liked the pictures of their previously completed projects, and with the hardscaping promotion American Plant was offering at the time (20% off if your hardscaping project was booked by the end of February) it was an easy choice to decide to contract with them. American Plant was able to schedule our start date quickly, and I was impressed at how quickly the project was completed -- just about 5 work days. During the course of construction, we continued to consult with Tony on design and ended up adding a natural stone pathway and three big natural stone slab stairs to the project as it progressed, as well as a low stacked stone wall. Tony and the work crew easily incorporated these elements into our existing plan. I also really liked that American Plant's stone mason and the entire work crew are in-house American Plant employees and not subcontractors; Gabe the master stone mason & his team did an amazing job and worked tirelessly and fastidiously. They showed a lot of respect for our property, cleaning up the site as they worked & making sure everything was safe for our children to play in the yard at the end of the workday. When the hardscaping was completed, I purchased some dogwoods from American Plant to encircle the area & the same great crew came out to plant them for us. The final product is magnificent -- the fire pit patio is the new entertaining hub for our house and is a great family time spot as well. We couldn't be more pleased -- the new fire pit area & plantings just look like they "belong" in the garden perfectly. Now we're working with Tony again to improve the driveway in the front yard and also to repair a previously existing patio off our family room -- I would hire them again for future projects in a second.”
