“From the moment I entered Design West, I knew I would be in good hands for my kitchen renovation project. I had looked into three other kitchen companies, but none could compare to Design West. To begin with, I was impressed with the way they were forthcoming with their designs. The other companies I explored would not relinquish any plans until a deposit was given. Design West listened to the ideas I had, came up with an initial design and then emailed the plans back and forth for about two weeks, making changes as needed, and did this work prior to any deposit being put down. A feeling of trust resulted. From the owner of Design West, Gerard, to the designer, Michelle, I always felt they were honest with me and had my best interest in mind. Gerard went beyond selling me quality cabinets by connecting me with an amazing contractor, Jamie Aluzzo. I worked most intensely with Michelle, the kitchen designer. She shared her expertise, offered advice, money saving ideas, and really listened to what I wanted. We exchanged emails on a daily basis, often more than once a day and sometimes on the weekends. Michelle never grew tired of my endless questions and different ideas and changes I thought of and responded with her own ideas and expertise. This exchange went on for months! Michelle made sure that everything was in place before ordering and came to my home to make one last measurement and discussion. Once the cabinets arrived, she was in constant contact with the builder and coordinated the installation. When the kitchen was complete, Michelle came over to see the final outcome and presented me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers! From start to finish, Michelle gave her personal touch and I felt we had developed a friendship. Michelle, Gerard, Jamie and each member of the installation crew really cared about my family and my kitchen. Working with Design West was an amazing experience. The quality was impeccable, the service was genuine, they worked within our budget and completed the project on time, as promised. “Erling Hope was general contractor, cabinet maker, and co- designer for our gut kitchen renovation ten years ago. It has survived ten years of daily use and teenage gatherings and keeps getting better. Everyone wants to linger there. The kitchen is light, warm, and full of beauty and subtle poetry. The space was small- 230 square feet- and we were making it functionally smaller by replacing a wall of storage and appliances with a wall of windows. I thought the job would be mostly a practical puzzle of difficult logistics. It was – yet ended up working brilliantly: easier to move around in and use than when we had more wall space. And thanks to Erling’s design imagination, extraordinary craftsmanship, attention to detail and materials, it is also a delight to be in. All this and within budget too! “Our 1930s center hall New England colonial was sorely in need of a new kitchen. We had lots of ideas, plenty of pictures and no experience in kitchen design. We are so glad we hired Maple Tree Cabinetmakers. Josh and his brother delivered more than we imagined, on time and within budget! We told Josh what we liked and disliked in our kitchen, he listened, really listened, and came up with a design that embodied and greatly improved on our vision. For example, Josh suggested a walnut counter top for the breakfast room hutch, reused the original bin pulls,hinges and glass front doors. The original hutch had six small drawers just under the counter. Josh made 3 wide, much more useful drawers, yet faced them so it looks like 6 small drawers still! Love it! We enclosed the stoop out side the back door, creating a mudroom. Josh built a bead board cubby, with walnut bench, and shelves above. A huge improvement for a family with a dog! Josh also suggested curved brackets at the end of the cabinet runs,; enclosing the refrigerator with panels that match the cabinetry; and he replaced the old built in ironing board with a shallow cupboard for keys, a walnut counter with USB ports for a charging station and two shelves below for old fashioned cook books.We could not be more pleased with our Maple Tree Cabinetmakers Custom Cabinets and would hire them again in a nano-second!”
