“After exhaustive research, we found this wonderful craftsman, Ray Kroeck, to install the roof of our dream house. We interviewed 5 or 6 "slaters" in northern California, and found none (except Ray) who were not only knowledgeable about the craft, but also honest enough to give us a roof that would last a lifetime. Throughout repeated problems with not only the General Contractor, but also with the importer of the Chinese slate, Ray Kroeck represented us, the homeowner, in an attempt to get us our 300 year roof. His work is old school, he represents a pride of ownership in his work, and gives this lost art a shot at the future. Not sure what will happen when artists like Ray Kroeck are no longer available. We are looking to Ray for consultation and hopefully installation at an alpine compound we are developing near Tahoe. Think freeze thaw, snow loads, ice dams, etc. We would trust no one but Ray for such a task...”

He showed me all his organizational affiliations, gave me his contractors licenses and a little background as to not only his experience but also that of his company. And while I'm sure I was driving Ron more than a little crazy with all my questions and concerns, he walked me through all the types of roofing and every aspect of installation. He was incredibly patient, described exactly what products were for and explained the benifits of one product over the other. Once they started the project, they worked straight through to completion and my beautiful new roof was on much more quickly than I would have anticipated. Ron's crew were friendly and helpful. Jon was particularly good at letting me know what was going on and answering my many questions. They were very careful with my plants and cleaned up daily. Not only would I recommend them to others needing a new roof, I have already done so.”

“We had four estimates for a complete roof replacement and Barth Roofing was the most reasonable. One estimate was about four time the amount. They were prompt and got the job done right . We ran into some dry rot and had to replace some wood underlayment and so the job cost a little more than the estimate. We were so glad that we were working with Scott Barth. Another roofer would have tried to soak us for the extra work. There have been no problems with the roof since.”
