99 colors of paint on the wall... please help!!
Ok, so I’m actually already past the 99 colors of paint on the wall, but sure enough that happened. I read. I researched. I considered my fixed elements (kitchen in particular, but red-toned floors too) I looked at camp chroma and home bunch and Houzz and Pinterest - and here I am.
Trim: white dove (looks gray?!?)
Walls: dove wing (looks yellow?!?)
Together: looks... ???
It’s driving me bonkers. FYI, it’s all open to each other - the eating area is open to the kitchen which leads to the family room.
Any thoughts or suggestions? If the suggestion is an alternate paint color, I prefer to change the walls than the trim.
Also, no furniture is necessarily a keeper at this point, so open to suggestions on layout, furniture, accessories, etc. I will say I’m partial to the rug...

Pourquoi ne pas investir dans un second pot identique au premier et le modifier un peu: découper la fibre de verre (se protéger les yeux et porter des vêtements longs!) à la meuleuse pour incorporer le regard EP dedans et riveter un nouveau fond dans le pot... Au pire un second bambou en pot placé sur cales à l'intérieur fera illusion... Et vous cacherez en partie la descente d'eau pluviales! C'est ce que j'aurais fait! Commentaires (5)Bonjour! Is your ceiling unique to the kitchen or continues for another room? You can use the ceiling to add color If just the kitchen. A medium intensity color would warm up the space without making somber. You can also choose a wall as an accent, keeping the rest very pale. Tones of yellow would be nice. See the Benjamin color trends for 2016. A lot of whites accentuated with colors. One room has yellow, but you don't have to go so intense. Also see on houzz "clored" ceilings. You can also use our window frames to add contrast painting them a darker shade of gray or charcoal. Commentaires (84)bonjour, ils sont très bien les rideaux que vous avez trouvé, le bleu est bien clair et dans les tons pastels que nous utilisions beaucoup en Scandinavie. Le bleu assortie pour le coussin est parfait. Si vous souhaitez vous rapprocher du style Scandinave il faut choisir entre rideaux et voilage comme on ne mets jamais le deux, beaucoup trop lourd pour nous intérieurs ou on essaye toujours garder une luminosité maximale. En Tunisie vous avez le problème contraire donc il faudra s'adapter et trouver une équilibre entre le style Scandinave et vous besoins. Si vous souhaitez avoir une voilage je conseillerai vivement un blanc uni, sans rayure! votre tableau bleu et jaune sera très bien avec l'ensemble, il est très beau!... il y a 3 ansThank you all. I wanted to post a little more on my frustration. It feels like paint colors never turn out for me. Proof below - trim being white dove, walls being dove wing - neither look anything like their swatches.... (and I did sample, just didn’t work out for me regardless).
And yes - agree it’s all very dull. The furniture is all about 8 years old and I puttered out in decision making in trying to buy new stuff after we finished the reno (added pocket doors and windows in either side of fireplace, and bookshelves in the office on the opposite wall). So I’m open to suggestions and color is a great one, thank you!
