Work Table
I like the idea of a work table/island instead of a kitchen table. We would use the space for eating, working on computer, morning tv. I like the idea of file storage for mail, docking station for electronics. I love the idea of having a laptop on a pull-out, a hidden printer, and maybe even a tv.
I'd love the safe to serve many purposes: love the hidden printer.
