Light, bright and truly exquisite, this kitchen and laundry renovation marries artistry and functionality in two of the most frequented spaces of the home. In the heart of the kitchen, a Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo island benchtop/breakfast bar takes centre stage, embellished with vibrant Dulux Blue Accolade. The remaining kitchen aspects include Dulux White on White cabinetry and intricate white whoosh subway tiles, meticulously laid in a herringbone pattern to match a similarly elegant design style in the laundry. A second Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo benchtop appears in the laundry to elevate the expansive bench space.
Kraft Custom ConstructionAfter a not-so-great experience with a previous contractor, this homeowner came to Kraft Custom Construction in search of a better outcome. Not only was she wanting a more functional kitchen to enjoy cooking in, she also sought out a team with a clear process and great communication.
Two elements of the original floorplan shaped the design of the new kitchen: a protruding pantry that blocked the flow from the front door into the main living space, and two large columns in the middle of the living room.
Using a refined French-Country design aesthetic, we completed structural modifications to reframe the pantry, and integrated a new custom buffet cabinet to tie in the old columns with new wood ceiling beams. Other design solutions include more usable countertop space, a recessed spice cabinet, numerous drawer organizers, and updated appliances and finishes all around.
This bright new kitchen is both comfortable yet elegant, and the perfect place to cook for the family or entertain a group of guests.
Reico Kitchen & BathDesigned by Sheryl Manning of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Charlotte, NC in collaboration with Home Care & Remodeling, this multi-room design includes a kitchen, pantry and laundry room. The kitchen and pantry feature the Merillat Masterpiece Turner door style in the finishes Onyx and Barley. The laundry room features Merillat Basics Collins in a Cotton finish with Bally Butcher Block maple tops. Reico provided the design, cabinets and butcher block for this project.
“This remodel of a 1979 home was challenging but fun! The homeowner had a very clear idea of what they wanted, and chose a modern transitional look with a Parisian influence, utilizing the Onyx finish with Brushed Gold hardware, and natural wood floating shelves, finished in a light brown Barley stain,” said Sheryl.
“We utilized every space, opening up a large closet for the oven and pantry cabinet and a small closet to form an art/display niche. The laundry room was not functional, with just a small wall for the washer-dryer. We placed wall cabinets above, pulling them forward 6" for ease of access. We added a working pantry and counter space for small appliances with butcher-block tops.”

“Sheryl from Reico was easy to work with and responsive as we worked through the design process!” said the client. “We were able to achieve the French modern traditional style I dreamed of while also maximizing the space. The contrast of the black cabinets, quartz countertops and gold hardware made the kitchen modern, welcoming and a true statement piece in the home! What I love the most is the dramatic waterfall island! A close second favorite is how functional the storage is.”

Remodel Works Bath & KitchenThis u-shaped kitchen remodel features Starmark Cabinetry in a Maple Wood Farmington door style in a white tinted varnish finish. The stainless steel appliances, the stainless steel sink from IPT, the Richelieu handles and the Moen Arbor faucet are the subtle details that really bring together this remodel. The Arizona tile backsplash is the H-line series in Pumice that also compliments the theme in this room. The storage is maximized by providing drawers and cabinets on the counter area where the sink is located taking advantage of the space that area created.
