CUSTOM CRAFT - Design Build RemodelTo create the large, open kitchen layout our clients desired, we had to move the kitchen into the area formerly occupied by the dining room. This meant that we needed to provide a space for dining in the renovation.
The space not only had to provide an area for seating a large group, it also had to have a buffet for dish storage and buffet service. The solution for this space could not be found in a cabinet line or furniture store. To meet the needs of the client, we needed to custom build this furniture piece.

This unique home gets better and better as you pass through the private front patio and into a gorgeous circular entry. The study conveniently located off the entry can also be used as a fourth bedroom. You will enjoy the bathroom accessible to both the study and another bedroom. Glazed white cabinets and white subway tile add a classic touch. Lanterns are from Lantern and Scroll. The breakfast room features a planning desk.

Dragonfly DesignsSlate Gray painted alder cabinets mixed with those fashioned from distressed oak keep the kitchen "piecy", as if renovated over time. We varied the styles and materials to provide an historic interest. Open shelves in reclaimed oak and antique iron brackets allow for casual and "at your fingertips" storage. An aged copper hood adds warmth, and a floor of concrete tiles on the diagonal gives the impression of terracotta, but with a much higher durability.

Black honed granite counter tops are balanced by dark accents through out the space like the slat-back island stools, lantern pendant fixtures above, and bronze hardware on doors.
The light stone on the kitchen island work beautifully with white cabinets, Nickel pulls, and Nickel plumbing fixtures.
The kitchen's honed stone counter top is repeated at the pass-through to the dining room. The counter top is supported by curvy decorative brackets that are a great balance to the rectilinear characteristics of the shaker style kitchen cabinets.
Architectural millwork and column at Dining Room entry add a traditional element to this relaxed space.
The combinations of all these finishes bring personalty and warmth to the home.
