Tara Veith Kitchen & Bath DesignWe transformed an awkward bowling alley into an elegant and gracious kitchen that works for a couple or a grand occasion. The prep island is compact but still provides 24" under-counter refrigerator drawers, a large prep sink with pull-out garbage underneath. The cabinet facing the range has in-drawer knife storage with cutting board/cookie sheet storage below.
One to One StudioMary’s floor-through apartment was truly enchanting . . . except for the tiny kitchen she’d inherited. It lacked a dishwasher, counter space or any real storage, items that have all been addressed in the makeover. Now the kitchen is as cheerful and bright as the rest of the home.
Kristin Ferro of HBS HomeThe client originally had a partial wall that separated the Main Kitchen from the Eating Area. The wall was removed to unify both areas, creating an open space ideal for entertaining. A pass-thru wall was also eliminated to make room for a stately wood paneled hood and additional wall cabinet storage. Pipes in a soffit could not entirely be removed, so the crown moulding assembly was designed to hide the pipes and seamlessly bring the cabinets with crown to the ceiling. A pantry closet was turned in to a Beverage Center Niche with retractable counter wall cabinet doors that can be left open for easy access to glassware and mugs. Contrasting floating wood stained shelving was added to one wall for visual interest.
Soul Interiors Design, LLCOur clients desired to keep their original 1950’s wood cabinetry but update their tired laminate counters and dated appliances. Our solution was to install striking cobalt blue Silestone countertops to complement the original cabinetry while providing a durable work surface for prep. In addition, existing cabinetry was retro-fitted to accept modern appliances (no easy task!) and a more functional eating bar was added. Retro Bertoia-inspired bar stools complement the vintage kitchen’s new aesthetic.

Simple Shaker style custom cabinets, stainless steel appliances and sink complete the chef inspired classic yet modern feel.

Gilmans Kitchens and BathsA Gilmans Kitchens and Baths - Design Build Project (REMMIES Award Winning Kitchen)
The original kitchen lacked counter space and seating for the homeowners and their family and friends. It was important for the homeowners to utilize every inch of usable space for storage, function and entertaining, so many organizational inserts were used in the kitchen design. Bamboo cabinets, cork flooring and neolith countertops were used in the design.
Storage Solutions include a spice pull-out, towel pull-out, pantry pull outs and lemans corner cabinets. Bifold lift up cabinets were also used for convenience. Storage under and behind the bench was used to store pet items.

Tara Veith Kitchen & Bath DesignWe transformed an awkward bowling alley into an elegant and gracious kitchen that works for a couple or a grand occasion. The high ceilings are highlighted by an exquisite and silent Ventahood set upon a wall of marble mosaic. The paneled soffit hides the duct run and the open wall cabinet offers decorative storage in a location that is highly visible but difficult to reach. The lift-up door on the appliance garage hides the toaster oven. The small full-height base to the left of the range houses the gas shut-off and a deep drawer for oils.
Indigo Valley InteriorsWorking with the cedar ceiling and features throughout, we went with sage green lowers and white uppers to brighten the space. The client wanted eco-friendly options, so we have hardwood throughout and cork in the kitchen. The countertop has a touch of green specs to pull in the cabinet colour. We stacked the backsplash to give the space a more modern feel.

Farmer's Daughter Interiors & DesignIn the kitchen, white cabinetry feels so fresh + classic and the black hardware we chose is the perfect punctuation to draw attention to details in the millwork. We chose a backsplash that has both grey and brown tones while still feeling simple enough to coordinate perfectly with the veined quartz countertop. A large window over the sink provides the space with an ample amount of natural light but we added in these fun geometric pendants lights over the island to help define the space and tie in the black hardware. The island itself is custom-stained in a finish the clients hand selected; in fact, it was one of the first things chosen in the whole house! The flooring throughout the living room + kitchen space is a cork product which is durable yet soft underfoot and environmentally friendly. Points all around!
