MGM BuildersAfter being vacant for years, this property needed extensive repairs and system updates to accommodate the young family who would be making it their home. The existing mid-century modern architecture drove the design, and finding ways to open up the floorplan towards the sweeping views of the boulevard was a priority. Custom white oak cabinetry was created for several spaces, and new architectural details were added throughout the interior. Barefoot DwellingPhase 2 of our Modern Cottage project was the complete renovation of a small, impractical kitchen and dining nook. The client asked for a fresh, bright kitchen with natural light, a pop of color, and clean modern lines. The resulting kitchen features all of the above and incorporates fun details such as a scallop tile backsplash behind the range and artisan touches such as a custom walnut island and floating shelves; a custom metal range hood and hand-made lighting. This kitchen is all that the client asked for and more!
Ellie K DesignThis coastal, contemporary Tiny Home features a warm yet industrial style kitchen with stainless steel counters and husky tool drawers with black cabinets. the silver metal counters are complimented by grey subway tiling as a backsplash against the warmth of the locally sourced curly mango wood windowsill ledge. I mango wood windowsill also acts as a pass-through window to an outdoor bar and seating area on the deck. Entertaining guests right from the kitchen essentially makes this a wet-bar. LED track lighting adds the right amount of accent lighting and brightness to the area. The window is actually a french door that is mirrored on the opposite side of the kitchen. This kitchen has 7-foot long stainless steel counters on either end. There are stainless steel outlet covers to match the industrial look. There are stained exposed beams adding a cozy and stylish feeling to the room. To the back end of the kitchen is a frosted glass pocket door leading to the bathroom. All shelving is made of Hawaiian locally sourced curly mango wood. A stainless steel fridge matches the rest of the style and is built-in to the staircase of this tiny home. Dish drying racks are hung on the wall to conserve space and reduce clutter.

We blocked out the corner of the kitchen where the subzero refrigerator freezer is located to create a space for the pullout pantries that are located on each side of the ref/freezer.
It is a design element but I prefer to cover the dishwasher to have an uninterrupted are that makes the sink a focal point. This kitchen sink is a native trails concrete farm sink which pairs perfectly with the caesarstone rugged concrete countertop.
Custom made hood with charred wood that is the perfect accent to a subway tile that has rustic elements. In the center is a 36" wolf range, off to the left finishing out this kitchen is a steam unit. Adornas Kitchens & InteriorsThis striking space blends modern, classic and industrial touches to create an eclectic and homely feel.
The cabinets are a mixture of flat and panelled doors in grey tones, whilst the mobile island is in contrasting graphite and oak. There is a lot of flexible storage in the space with a multitude of drawers replacing wall cabinets, and all areas are clearly separated in to zones- including a dedicated space for storing all food, fresh, frozen and ambient.
The home owner was not afraid to take risks, and the overall look is contemporary but timeless with a touch of fun thrown in!
Let's Talk Kitchens & InteriorsAn elegant kitchen design featuring classic, shaker style doors in Dulux 'Grey Cabin' and benchtops in Caesarstone 'Turbine Grey'. The black Lancanche stove is the centrepiece of the kitchen and is complimented nicely by the black Gessi lever tap and Franke sink. A functional scullery/walk-in-pantry with 2nd sink, can be hidden away behind the sliding door when not in use. The scullery features cabinetry in Polytec's 'Char Oak' Ravine and matching Caesarstone 'Turbine Grey' benchtops.
