STAND OUT DESIGNDie Familie wünschte sich eine neue Küche mit Fußbodenheizung und eine große Tafel zum Freunde einladen und verköstigen.
Die Küche war aus den 90iger Jahren und schrie förmlich nach einer Modernisierung.
Das Budget ermöglichte den Wunsch nach einer Kochinsel, cleveren Verstauungsmöglichkeiten und einer integrierten Sitzmöglichkeit.
Die größte Herausforderung:
Als die Familie mich kontaktierte, waren es noch knapp 2 Wochen bis zum kurzfristigen Projektstart und zum Abflug nach China - eine Hauruck-Action mit knappen Zeitrahmen und auch engem Budget.
Der Plan:
Die Familie machte einen 3-monatigen Urlaub in Asien und wir konferierten über Skype das Design Konzept, klärten vielerlei Fragen bezüglich Küchendesign, Fußbodenheizungstechnik und Gestaltung der Wände.
Die Organisation:
Ich bekam den Schlüssel und organisierte kurzfristig alle handwerklichen Gewerke, um innerhalb von 12 Wochen alles über die Bühne laufen zu lassen.
Die alte Küche samt Fliesenboden wurde rausgerissen, die Fußbodenheizung verlegt und parall wurde die Küche geplant. Eine Küche in weiß mit Anpassung auf die Ergonomie meiner Kunden, war der große Wunsch! Die Höhen zum Arbeiten und Kochen wurden angepasst und die Sitzbank in die Kücheninsel maßgefertigt von meinem Handwerkerteam.
Fazit:
Ein toller Urlaub wurde mit einer hellen und modernen Küche gekrönt! Selbst ein paar Jahre später, sind meine Kunden immer noch sehr zufrieden und glücklich über den mutigen Schritt die 90iger hinter sich gelassen zu haben…

История этого проекта не совсем обычна. Хозяева квартиры в Краснодаре – молодая семья с ребёнком. Только, встречи с дизайнерами и общение проходили только при участии главы семьи, так как покупка квартиры и сам процесс создания интерьера держались им в строгом секрете. «Наш заказчик хотел преподнести домочадцам роскошный сюрприз, поэтому семья не должна была ничего знать, - вспоминает Ярослав Алдошин. – При этом он максимально детально озвучил все свои предпочтения, что очень помогло нам при проектировании. Основной задачей стало создание лаконичного, технологичного пространства, с нестандартными объемными и конструктивными решениями. Никаких элементов классических стилей, все должно отвечать современным визуальным требованиям о дизайне».
Особенностью проекта стало объединение двух квартир площадью 73 и 58 кв. метров. У обоих квартир – хорошие исходные данные: панорамное остекление во всех жилых помещениях, минимальное количество несущих перегородок, высота 2,9 метра, расположение на 21 этаже, что обусловило великолепную изоляцию – комнаты буквально залиты светом. Из минусов: маленькая ванная и очень узкая, вытянутая хозяйская спальня. Для семейного времяпрепровождения дизайнеры организовали объединенную зону гостиной-кухни с большим кухонным островом, увеличили площадь ванной комнаты за счёт нежилой площади, тем самым получив дополнительное пространство для размещения большой душевой и ванны, а также предусмотрели детскую комнату. Недостатки спальни исправили с помощью расстановки мебели (кровать установили по длине комнаты, изголовьем к окну) и переносом стены глубь соседней детской. Благодаря этому, в помещении удалось получить комфортную, хорошо освещенную рабочую зону с полноценным письменным столом, а также установить системы хранения и макияжный столик. При выходе из спален ближайшее помещение — вместительная гардеробная (в ней хранится основной объем вещей), что очень удобно в плане эргономики: хозяевам не нужно метаться по квартире в поисках нужных вещей, на это уходит минимум времени. К слову, алгоритмы передвижения по квартире спроектированы так, что все пути жильцов ведут в гостиную, где каждый сможет заняться своими любимыми делами, от просмотра ТВ до кулинарных поединков и отдыха у камина с книгой в руках».
Интерьер построен на контрасте тёплых и холодных цветов, фактур и паттернов. Это создает необходимую динамику и наполняет пространство его смыслами. «Главной нашей задачей было создание тактильного контраста материалов, в котором современный человек нуждается не меньше, чем в цветовом и тональном разнообразии, - объясняет Ярослав, - Так, в общественной зоне мы использовали природные паттерны теплого дерева и холодного камня, нанесённые на крупноформатный керамгранит. «Местом встреч» выступает яркий, красного цвета кухонный остров. Красный цвет выбран не случайно! Василий Кандинский описывал красный как цвет, который производит впечатление почти необъятной мощи. Таким образом мы хотели подчеркнуть характер владельцев квартиры - успешных и сильных духом людей. Остров – главная точка притяжения этого пространства, соседствует с большим диваном из матового приятного на ощупь велюра, изготовленного по нашим эскизам. Обязательным условием было наличие камина в гостиной. Мы выбрали камин на биотопливе, который встроен в инсталляцию, отделанную фактурным кермогранитом и перетекающею в ТВ-зону, декорированную уже гладким керамогранитом. Световые сценарии продуманы, исходя из назначения каждой зоны. Мы предусмотрели разные типы осветительных приборов: технический потолочный свет, направленные светильники, мягкие подсветки в виде бра, торшеров и настольных светильников, создающих обволакивающую атмосферу и интересные световые акценты».
Фрагмент гостиной. «Мы не привыкли сильно ориентироваться на моду, ведь она быстро меняется, а хороший интерьер должен быть актуален долгие годы, без этого весь его смысл исчезает, - замечает Елена, - Поэтому работаем на нюансах, на правильном построении колористического решения, светового сценария, очень любим использовать тактильные контрасты. Все это (даже по результатам научных исследований) помогает комфортно находиться в интерьере долгое время и получать от этого удовольствие». Вазы ручной работы. На стене – часы Menu Norm
Центральный элемент интерьера — это, конечно же, большой кухонный остров красного оттенка, с консольным вылетом столешницы – центр притяжения и самое «тусовочное» место квартиры, где можно встречаться с родными после рабочего дня, проводить кулинарные поединки, устраивать шумные вечеринки или просто завтракать каждое утро. Диван изготовлен на заказ. На полу – керамогранит Colorker

Коридор дизайнеры оформили как миниатюрную картинную галерею, ведь особое место в интерьере всей квартиры занимает искусство! «Для владельцев - это совершенно новый опыт, и они с большим удовольствием позволили нам наполнить пространство картинами, - отмечает Елена Алдошина, - Кроме того, мы предусмотрели дополнительные места для новых полотен, расположив в местах стыка потолка и стен специальные крепления для подвесов картин. Это избавит в будущем от сверления поверхностей, картины можно будет передвигать без ущерба для стен. Все картины, находящиеся в интерьере — работы Сергея Яшина».

Особого внимания в спальне заслуживает тумба-изголовье кровати в виде инсталляции из цветного глубоко-синего стекла, за которой находится хорошо освещённая рабочая зона с письменным столом. «Прозрачный лист стекла установлен в тумбу-изголовье, отделанной декоративной штукатуркой, - объясняет Ярослав, - Внутрь изголовья мы заложили электрические выводы для подключения прикроватных светильников, чтобы все провода были спрятаны и не портили общую картину. Таким образом изголовье кровати и его стеклянная инсталляция стали самыми технически сложными элементами этого пространства». Синее кресло, Sits Mokka. Рабочее кресло, Zuiver Nikki. Ванная комната. В качестве особого декоративного и конструктивного приёма выступает перегородка из smart-стекла. Таким образом, при желании можно «впустить» интерьер гостиной в ванную комнату и наоборот. По словам дизайнеров, все гости приходят в восторг при ее виде. Душевая перегородка выполнена из цветного стекла синего оттенка и в сочетании с плиткой в душевой с эффектом «кривого зеркала» образует броскую световую, цветовую и рельефную композицию. JOHN EADONThe Harris Kitchen uses our slatted cabinet design which draws on contemporary shaker and vernacular country but with a modern rustic feel. This design lends itself beautifully to both freestanding or fitted furniture and can be used to make a wide range of freestanding pieces such as larders, dressers and islands. This Kitchen is made from English Character Oak and custom finished with a translucent sage coloured Hard Wax Oil which we mixed in house, and has the effect of a subtle wash of colour without detracting from the character, tonal variations and warmth of the wood. This is a brilliant hardwearing, natural and breathable finish which is water and stain resistant, food safe and easy to maintain.
The slatted cabinet design was originally inspired by old vernacular freestanding kitchen furniture such as larders and meat safes with their simple construction and good airflow which helped store food and provisions in a healthy and safe way, vitally important before refrigeration. These attributes are still valuable today although rarely used in modern cabinetry, and the Slat Cabinet series does this with very narrow gaps between the slats in the doors and cabinet sides.
Emily & Greg commissioned this kitchen for their beautiful old thatched cottage in Warwickshire. The kitchen it was replacing was out dated, didn't use the space well and was not fitted sympathetically to the space with its old uneven walls and low beamed ceilings. A carefully considered cupboard and drawer layout ensured we maximised their storage space, increasing it from before, whilst opening out the space and making it feel less cramped.
The cabinets are made from Oak veneered birch and poplar core ply with solid oak frames, panels and doors. The main cabinet drawers are dovetailed and feature Pippy/Burr Oak fronts with Sycamore drawer boxes, whilst the two Larders have slatted Oak crate drawers for storage of vegetables and dry goods, along with spice racks shelving and automatic concealed led lights. The wall cabinets and shelves also have a continuous strip of dotless led lighting concealed under the front edge, providing soft light on the worktops.

Cornerstone ArchitectsNestled into sloping topography, the design of this home allows privacy from the street while providing unique vistas throughout the house and to the surrounding hill country and downtown skyline. Layering rooms with each other as well as circulation galleries, insures seclusion while allowing stunning downtown views. The owners' goals of creating a home with a contemporary flow and finish while providing a warm setting for daily life was accomplished through mixing warm natural finishes such as stained wood with gray tones in concrete and local limestone. The home's program also hinged around using both passive and active green features. Sustainable elements include geothermal heating/cooling, rainwater harvesting, spray foam insulation, high efficiency glazing, recessing lower spaces into the hillside on the west side, and roof/overhang design to provide passive solar coverage of walls and windows. The resulting design is a sustainably balanced, visually pleasing home which reflects the lifestyle and needs of the clients.

Alexander KitchensFollowing a vast extension, this Angmering property required a sizeable kitchen rethink and design, with plenty of luxury inclusions.
The Brief
A complete rear extension was undertaken at this property by local contractor Cloud9, leaving Managing Director Phil with the task of conjuring a new layout and theme for these Angmering clients.
Preference for a natural theme was clear, but modern elements were required to suit the property and for everyday ease of use.
Design Elements
From a blank canvas, Phil has created a layout and theme to tick all the boxes on this client’s list.
The natural aspect of the brief has been achieved through a combination of stone and wood furniture from German supplier Nobilia. The Concrete Grey and Havana Oak finishes from the Riva and Structura are used in handleless form, adding an ultramodern element to the design.
A lengthy island looks out centrally to the garden space and has an attached breakfast bar area for perching. The kitchen is broken into two main runs, the first of which houses plenty of storage, a hob, and an extractor. The second run is full-height and adds decorative storage space to the kitchen as well as housing the ovens, a refrigerator and freezer.
A coffee and small appliance area features next to the doorway, and then adjacent to this is a run dedicated to alcoholic tipples with a wine cabinet to precisely chill drinks.
Special Inclusions
For cooking and general use, the kitchen is equipped with a range of quality Neff appliances, a Quooker boiling tap, and an aforementioned wine cabinet.
A Neff Slide & Hide single oven, Neff combination oven and Neff warming drawer are built-into furniture, with a full-height Neff refrigerator and Neff freezer integrated behind Concrete Grey doors.
A Neff flexInduction Hob and black glass extractor hood have been placed on the next run and are briefly interrupted by a multicoloured vintage tile splashback.
The Quooker boiling water tap is placed on the island and sits above a Blanco under-mounted sink in a complimenting Alumetallic colour that also teams well with the Airy Concrete quartz work surfaces.
Project Highlight
The drinks area in this project is a great highlight and is a perfect addition for those who like to entertain, or even for a quick catch-up at the breakfast bar area.
A wine cabinet completes this space, which utilises an alternate wooden work surface as an accent. Handrail lighting enhances this space with ambient lighting.
The End Result
This project is a great example of a kitchen designed completely for purpose.

Alexander KitchensClassic British Kitchen in Haywards Heath, West Sussex
This recent Haywards Heath kitchen project spans three rooms, making the most of classic British-made furnishings for local clients who sought an ‘all under one roof’ renovation solution.
This project is located within Haywards Heath although the property is closer to the picturesque village of Lindfield. The overall brief for this project involved transforming three rooms into a sequence of functional spaces, with a main kitchen area, separate dining and living space as well as a spacious utility area.
To bring the client’s vision to life, a doorway from the kitchen into the dining area has been created to make a flowing passage through the rooms. In addition, our fitting team have undertaken a full flooring improvement, using British Karndean flooring with underfloor heating installed as part of this comprehensive project. Lighting, electrics, and plastering have also taken place where necessary to enhance the final finish of the space.
Kitchen Furniture
The furniture used for this renovation is British made, using traditional carpentry and cabinetry methods. From the Mereway Signature collection, this furniture is most luxurious shaker kitchen option offered by the British kitchen maker, using dovetail joinery and robust craftsmanship for a traditional and long-lasting furniture option. The detail of the Signature collection is best showcased in the detailed shaker frame and elegant cornices that decorate full-height units and wall units. The popular Cashmere colourway has been used throughout furnishings across rooms.
The layout is comprised of two parallel runs with an end run used to house sink and dishwashing facilities. The layout ensures there is plenty of floorspace in the kitchen whilst nicely leading into the next-door dining and living room.
Kitchen Appliances
Across the kitchen Neff appliances feature prominently for a premium specification of appliances. A sizeable Neff flexInduction hob is included with a feature glass extractor for seamless cooking, and notably, dual Neff single ovens. These possess a useful Pyrolytic cleaning ability, turning cooking residue in to ash for simple non-hazardous cleaning.
Another popular inclusion in this kitchen is a built-in Neff microwave. This has been neatly integrated into wall unit furniture, removing the need for small appliances on the worktop. On a similar note, a Quooker boiling tap features above the main sink again removing the need for a traditional kettle. A Neff dishwasher and full-height refrigerator have been integrated into furniture to maintain the kitchen aesthetic.
Kitchen Accessories
A selection of durable and desirable features are showcased throughout this project. Organic White Quartz work surfaces feature throughout the kitchen and utility space, nicely complementing Cashmere furnishings. The end-run area utilises a undermounted stainless steel sink with drainer grooves integrated into the work surface. An integrated bin system is included here for extra convenience.
Another popular feature in this kitchen is the built-in CDA wine cabinet. This model has capacity for twenty wine bottles that are precisely cooled through a regulated temperature control system. To heat the rooms, in keeping full-height radiators have been fitted throughout. In a perfect warming combination, our fitting team have expertly installed underfloor heating and Misty Grey Oak Karndean Flooring throughout the three rooms.
Kitchen Features
Throughout the kitchen area feature and decorative units have been included to create a unique design. Glass fronted wall units have been nicely used to showcase pertinent items and maintain the kitchen theme. Above the wine cabinet a full height exposed unit has been used as a neat and tidy decorative space. Feature storage makes the most of the space available with a full height pull-out storage and plentiful storage throughout. Dovetail joinery and oak finished drawer internals keep stored items neat and tidy whilst providing timeless handcrafted detail.
Kitchen Utility & Dining Room
To create a continuous theme across the three rooms, matching flooring, work surfaces and furnishings have been used. Generous storage in the utility ensures that there is a place for all cleaning items and more, with laundry facilities neatly fitted within furniture. Flooring, plumbing, electrics, and lighting have also been adjusted to reflect the new layout, with a step into the dining room from the kitchen also created.

Across these three rooms drastic changes have been made thanks to a visionary design from the clients and designer George, which with the help of our fitting team has been fantastically brought to life. This project perfectly encapsulates the complete installation service that we are able to offer, utilising kitchen fitting, plumbing, electrics, lighting, flooring and our internal building option to reshape the layout of this property.

12/12 Architects & PlannersThis project included the total interior remodeling and renovation of the Kitchen, Living, Dining and Family rooms. The Dining and Family rooms switched locations, and the Kitchen footprint expanded, with a new larger opening to the new front Family room. New doors were added to the kitchen, as well as a gorgeous buffet cabinetry unit - with windows behind the upper glass-front cabinets.
