Feature wall - with a window in it?

We live in a remodelled barn. There's one bedroom which has stairs within it to a wet room. Stairs make this room difficult to furnish.
I've placed the bed on opposite wall which has a little window in it. My idea is to wallpaper the three walls in eau de nil/silver wallpaper and have a Roman blind made of the same fabric which would be hung from outside the reveal.
Would it look strange? Of course any patter repeat would have to be matched.
Which brand would have wallpaper and fabric to match?

il y a 8 ansGorgeous room Janicka, how about instead of wallpaper you add some luxury and richness to the room with some curtains? You could have a simple blackout blind for the window a sheer string curtain and some dress only curtains. They don't need to be functional they can just sit behind the bedsides.
I have an example in my idea books of this see what you think.

Commentaires (5)Bonjour! Is your ceiling unique to the kitchen or continues for another room? You can use the ceiling to add color If just the kitchen. A medium intensity color would warm up the space without making somber. You can also choose a wall as an accent, keeping the rest very pale. Tones of yellow would be nice. See the Benjamin color trends for 2016. A lot of whites accentuated with colors. One room has yellow, but you don't have to go so intense. Also see on houzz "clored" ceilings. You can also use our window frames to add contrast painting them a darker shade of gray or charcoal. It gives character, definition and class Sorry i dont have photos to demontrate at the moment (problem with iphone:( but you can always find on houzz) :) Hope this helps!... Commentaires (84)bonjour, ils sont très bien les rideaux que vous avez trouvé, le bleu est bien clair et dans les tons pastels que nous utilisions beaucoup en Scandinavie. Le bleu assortie pour le coussin est parfait. Si vous souhaitez vous rapprocher du style Scandinave il faut choisir entre rideaux et voilage comme on ne mets jamais le deux, beaucoup trop lourd pour nous intérieurs ou on essaye toujours garder une luminosité maximale. En Tunisie vous avez le problème contraire donc il faudra s'adapter et trouver une équilibre entre le style Scandinave et vous besoins. Si vous souhaitez avoir une voilage je conseillerai vivement un blanc uni, sans rayure! votre tableau bleu et jaune sera très bien avec l'ensemble, il est très beau!... Commentaires (10)Hello Catherine, It seems like a different solution is somewhat blocked by 1) the size/shape of the room, 2) the door and window positions as well as 3) the type and size of the furniture... (sorry I know this is obvious). Something has to give... Could you give the exact room size and confirmation of doors or passages? (door to the right? arched passage to the left of the piano?) Is the furniture that you have included actual or new? What are their footprints? How is the bay window done? full height floor to ceiling? starts at bench height? How is the window exposed? East, West, North or South? How high is the fireplace and is it's angled wall also full height? Most upright pianos are around 1m30 (or à little more than 4 feet). Putting a TV above it can be an option, but perhaps a little uncomfortable, not to add that visually it will be an odd addition unless you take the "fake painting" version (ex Samsung "The Frame"). thanks in advance, Lynn... I'm not trying to criticize, the space seems new, with quality materials and well-lit, but have you also noticed the other big white walls? and ceiling? Why just the wall with the mirror? You've got a majority of white, a good dose of black, some chrome / stainless steel details and an uninterrupted shiny pale wood floor. It's relatively astonishing that you have a white door and only one white window, but the other window is black? Everything is relativement anonymous, nice, but nothing too ground-breaking. Is this a rental or your own home? Are you sure that just some art on that one wall will make it cozy and beautiful? Have you thought about any window treatments? Store venetien? Rideaux? Store bateaux? Any type of rug under the dining table? A rug called Bolon, made of woven vinyl fibers, easily cleaned ant anti-allergy. Is the mirror not on the axis of the table on purpose? And why a dark wood? It adds to the "window types", a black one, a white one and the wooden mirror one... Some more information would be helpful. good luck, Lynn... Voir plus
