Need help with Fireplace and Color of wall
There are two things I'm struggling with in my living room.
1. My living room has an off-centered fireplace with cobblestone wall. I don't like the fireplace being off-centered and don't care for the cobblestone wall. But I'm looking to work with it by updating it with a modern feel ( with a few tweaks) and find a way to balance the room better.
2. What color would you recommend for the Walls with the floors being black and brown? I like the modern tones, like grays and neutrals. Any suggestions?
Is there an app that is really good paint rendering for rooms? I couldn't find anything good.

Pourquoi ne pas investir dans un second pot identique au premier et le modifier un peu: découper la fibre de verre (se protéger les yeux et porter des vêtements longs!) à la meuleuse pour incorporer le regard EP dedans et riveter un nouveau fond dans le pot... Au pire un second bambou en pot placé sur cales à l'intérieur fera illusion... Et vous cacherez en partie la descente d'eau pluviales! C'est ce que j'aurais fait! Sinon faites revenir l'entrepreneur qui a osé laisser ce regard apparent!!... Voir plusCuisine 11 m2 avec ilot ?

I'm not trying to criticize, the space seems new, with quality materials and well-lit, but have you also noticed the other big white walls? and ceiling? Why just the wall with the mirror? You've got a majority of white, a good dose of black, some chrome / stainless steel details and an uninterrupted shiny pale wood floor. It's relatively astonishing that you have a white door and only one white window, but the other window is black? Everything is relativement anonymous, nice, but nothing too ground-breaking. Is this a rental or your own home? Are you sure that just some art on that one wall will make it cozy and beautiful? Have you thought about any window treatments? Store venetien? Rideaux? Store bateaux? Any type of rug under the dining table? A rug called Bolon, made of woven vinyl fibers, easily cleaned ant anti-allergy. Is the mirror not on the axis of the table on purpose? And why a dark wood? It adds to the "window types", a black one, a white one and the wooden mirror one... Some more information would be helpful. good luck, Lynn... Voir plusmajor disaster!!
Commentaires (3)Hello, I suggest that you replace the countertop, especially if you don't appreciate the former marble one. I think it would be sturdier if you move the dishwasher closer to the sink and the small cabinet (which is presently in between the sink and the dishwasher) to the left of the dishwasher, Your new counter will be more solid. The cabinets are Dark petrol blue? Your photos are relative close-ups, a larger view would be more helpful if you wish some suggestions, a budget, as well. There is a big difference in price from the low end to the high end choices. good luck, Lynn... Voir plus

il y a 8 ansI'd be inclined to remove the shelves, and balance the wall with a low dark cabinet and art on the left, and a tall sculpture on the right. I'd love to see the walls much lighter -- a bright greige with a very slight pink undertone. This is a wonderfully open, bright room. Take advantage by stressing that.
I haven't tried painting the ceiling -- time being the problem to get all the shadowing right -- but I'd go off white in the direction of the wall colour.
I agree that the fireplace doors are dated, though.

il y a 8 ansThis fireplace looked very similar to yours. The hearth was all stone, also. I added the stainless surround, the tile to make the actual opening more in proportion to the size of the fireplace. I used marble on the hearth which also made a big difference in all the stone looking rather oppressive, Then just a great sculpted piece. This was just a rendering. I couldn't find the "Before"

il y a 8 ansAn updated fireplace screen would make an impact, as would a chandelier once your furniture choices are made.
Consider a large asymmetrical mantle extending from the fireplace to the left.
Paint the walls Versatile Gray and the ceiling Popular Gray. They are both on the warm side as grays go.

il y a 8 ansFrom what I read, you are putting substantial work and money into your house so I would spend a few more thousand and redo the fireplace to your liking. We had a similar situation and had the top part covered with drywall and put up a substantial mantle (across the entire fireplace) and also covered the bottom stone with a stone that we like.
