House Exterior Ideas
Hi,
We bought this house last year and after doing a few necessary maintenance items (mostly drainage, hence the messy front lawn). What would you do to increase street appeal?
We have ideas of cement bagging the house and painting a neutral tone with eventually adding colorbond roofing. We have been told though, because of the raked bricks, bagging isn't going to be an option. Is that true?
We did have a friend 'bag' a section of bricks that we are going to pull down as a test run, but it came out very thick and the outline of bricks is barely visible.
What would you do with the house exterior?

Commentaires (0)I have a very well built set of furniture my Father made - so for the emotional reasons I will not give it up. Then comes the BUT - it is pale and made out of solid birch with absolutely beautiful flaming, swirling type of wood - and I love dark almost black, black and some grey for my furniture. I like silver over gold, latter of which I will not accept. It is crime to paint wood - generally speaking especially when it is beautiful - and so I will not do. The set of furniture includes a bit over 3 m long very near ceiling height book selves with center area designed for the TV and a stereo.. electronics. It has its own lights. There is section with led-glass and other with wood doors - some open shelves. Down there is a bit larger base with drawers. Then there exists an additional extension which can also be set else where in a room. There is 1 sqm large a coffee table high enough to work as a laptop table with structural design and a hidden base compartment for a home safe (how ever not good for permanent work table - no way). I designed the table top for it and made it when I was a teen. The design includes glass cover. In addition I have a nicely sized, bit larger than usually lamp table with 3 drawers. I designed the legs for that - so they are not common type while still simple. They are more narrow at the ends than at the top. They have silver handles and traditional framed centers for the doors. The pale birch of the doors in this particular object found online is exactly what my birch is like - tone included... I like the black legs on that. I do like Art Deco - but something about this object just does not work. I need more options and ideas. This might be just the first and most important piece of furniture to get because... I prefer much more things like these.. Please help me to find that small, but not too small a piece that can unite well enough dark and the existing pale birch. Thank you.... Commentaires (81)Depuis le temps avez vous avancé dans votre projet? je ne sais pas si vous vous sentez bien dans cette chambre,pas complètement vu que vous avez besoin de changer... c'est une belle pièce qui fait penser à certaines chambres d'hôtel dits de luxe,mais un peu vieillotte... Vos lampes ne choquent pas,mais pour ajouter de l'industriel,avec ce style de roman anglais,ça ne suffit pas. dans un 1er temps pourquoi ne pas peindre les 3 murs en blanc (sauf la tête de lit) pour effacer un peu cheminée et meubles?pour la housse de couette,soit un style industriel pur,genre des inscriptions new york, soit ceci dit avez vous l'utilité de tous ces meubles??? De toute façon changez les boutons de tiroirs pour des métal (le violet se marie bien avec les jaunes et orangés,je vous conseille des cuivrés roses,ou noir mais vous pouvez prendre des formes différentes,et vous pouvez aussi peindre vos tiroirs de couleur différente ou les décorer de papier peint. ou adhésif. le canapé est vraiment en trop,un joli fauteuil? et la chaise devant le bureau gagnerait à être plus style industriel; metal et bois.Attention à la prendre confortable.Par économie vous pouvez la peindre en gris ,et ajouter une galette de chaise.... Commentaires (7)Bonjour, voici une simulation avec des menuiseries foncées. Il vaut mieux éviter la pose au nu extérieur de la façade. Laisser un tableau extérieur. Pour la baie cintrée, préférer une partition en 3 parties. Ce n'est qu'un avis parmi d'autres. Bon courage.... Voir plus

Congratulations on the purchase of your new home. I would suggest framing the windows white and painting the home with whites and greys.
Your brick apprears darker then this example. However the shutters on the sides of the windows give a lovely cottage family home feel. If you did these in white they would lift the colour of the home. Possibly add a timber deck over the concreate front to add colour. Suggest taking away the hedge at the front of the house and replacing it with a stone path to the driveway.
