help with small living space
Hi. I have a space in my house for a formal living room that I am decorating to use for our personal second living room/chill out/reading space. So I want it to feel light and airy with lots of plants. I am still to add plants and small décor pieces on the side tables. But this is the layout and furniture I have gone with. But looking at it, I feel something is not right. Not sure what - the ottoman maybe? Also, I will be removing the two framed photos and putting one wide piece of art above chair.
Looking to experts here to help make this room look cohesive and well put together

Commentaires (2)I see your point, It does look ugly :) Since its a rental apartment, do you have the authorization to remove it ? Because unfortunately, you can't put down vinyle over lino, it will not work (and its not because of the uneven floor). You can remove the lino and put another one, less ugly. It can be nice actually :) http://designmag.fr/design-dinterieur/lino-sol.html You are speaking about sticker, its quite cheap, why not trying and see if it fits with an uneven floor ? Although Im not sure that it will look pretty. Last solution, you can paint the lino, it will not last forever but it could be nice. Ask for expert advice to by the appropriate painting pots.... Commentaires (2)Thanks, indeed. A rug would be an option, but our 2 small kids eat like pigs... This option is for later :0) Does anybody have an idea that fits our minimalistic style? We are not fan of "busy" spaces. Is there any technical solution? Sth we could stick under the table or a trick, magical plants perhaps?... Commentaires (84)bonjour, ils sont très bien les rideaux que vous avez trouvé, le bleu est bien clair et dans les tons pastels que nous utilisions beaucoup en Scandinavie. Le bleu assortie pour le coussin est parfait. Si vous souhaitez vous rapprocher du style Scandinave il faut choisir entre rideaux et voilage comme on ne mets jamais le deux, beaucoup trop lourd pour nous intérieurs ou on essaye toujours garder une luminosité maximale. En Tunisie vous avez le problème contraire donc il faudra s'adapter et trouver une équilibre entre le style Scandinave et vous besoins. Si vous souhaitez avoir une voilage je conseillerai vivement un blanc uni, sans rayure! votre tableau bleu et jaune sera très bien avec l'ensemble, il est très beau!... Commentaires (36)Microwave next to the table would solve the bad looks and the height issue. Normally upper cabinets can be about 48cm above countertop, but since it looks better to have them on the same height as the built-in hood, you'll need 60cm. But if you're 1.60m you could consider a free hanging hood and some upper cabinets next to it, otherwise all uppers would be too high for you and you'd only use the lower shelf. And even better: Buy an oven with microwave function! (already posted that I think) Oven with microwave is different than microwave with grill. I even have a 12 year old tiny Panasonic combi that makes perfect bread and pizza!... Voir plus

il y a 9 moisYou might consider reorienting the pieces you have. You might try the loveseat where the chair is or taking the loveseat, floating it on the rug facing the window. You could also place the lamp in the corner and add some plants and thicker window treatments since the loveseat might not be in front of the window. Adding an accent color might help as well. If you are replacing the art with other artwork maybe try to work in an accent color there and with pillows.
