Retaining Wall: if we ever modify it, would using a wood facade like this in front of it work? Maybe we can consider pushing the retaining wall back farther to get back some more real estate?

Lighting: would like to incorporate lighting into our steps in the back and front steps.

like the two types of railings: bench seating doubling as a barrier as well as the railing in the back. One thing about scaling back the eaves in the back of the house is we lose coverage from the elements 9 months of the year. it's hard to see here but there are windowed cutouts in the overhang. brilliant idea. again not entirely sure this idea could work with our house, just wanted to share as example of crafty solutions.

really big fan of the feeling that the deck is an extension of the house, as opposed to "tacked on" to the house.
