Earth Design Gardens1.5 years after installation. 'Full Range' flagstone used for seating area. Existing veggie boxes were modified and reused to better fit the space. Decomposed granite provides walking access around the boxes. Plants like Lavender, Yarrow and Hummingbird Sage support the existing fruit trees by attracting pollinators, adding flowers and pleasant smells to the garden.. Yorkshire GardensNestled within the Pennines, it’s hard to believe this idyllic country garden was once a public toilet. Demolished a few years ago, the land had been left neglected and was in serious need of refurbishment.
We were asked to create a contemporary cottage garden, which was still in keeping with the rustic, rural architecture surrounding.
We achieved this by adopting a heritage colour scheme. Foxgloves, allium and delphinium add subtle splashes of purple to the luscious flower borders.
The stone patio and paths compliment the traditional oak decking and raised vegetables beds, while also adding texture. The addition of bright pots and painted lattice fence enhance this vibrant space as well as making interesting features.
This once disused plot has now been transformed into a tranquil garden, which is modern yet perfectly harmonising with the surrounding cottages.
Clara Lambert DesignThis Family in Northwest DC wanted a cozy, lush space filled with Natives and with plenty of space to grow vegetables. The landscape beds are full of native shrubs and perennials with an emphasis on year round beauty. Plants were seleccted for their beneficial insect host properties as well as for beauty. Flowering perennials were selected so that something will be in bloom all season long; from the early spring Virginia Bluebells to the fall flowering Goldenrod.
The herb spiral was hand made by Clara herself and is a favorite feature of this productive, inviting space.

Land AestheticThis project was an exploration in taking and urban corner lot and transforming it into and urban farm of sorts. The project incorporated rainwater tanks, raised vegetable beds, fruit trees, chicken coop, prefab studio, composite deck, poured in place concrete, pre-cast concrete, custom wood features, a green wall, custom bench/fountain, lighting, swimming pool with solar hot water heating, an outdoor kitchen, drip irrigation which is controlled by smart phone, landscape lighting which can be controlled by smart phone. A fun project where we melded contemporary elements with sustainable/ self sufficient principles.

Pacific Garden DesignDespite being just a couple miles from the downtown core, this home feels decidedly rural. Its streamside setting provides an opportunity for urban homesteading, with the homeowners maintaining a vegetable and herb garden as well as raising small livestock. The low-maintenance landscape complements the contemporary residence with geometric forms, but uses natural materials and native or drought-tolerant plants to blend the home into its setting.
