Velin HomesSet at the edge of the rolling foothills, our bungalow project has a modern, clean look on the inside that is both practical and inspirational. The home offers an enjoyable experience suited to every occupant regardless of age. We were inspired by the region’s architecture and natural environment, and our team based the design of the project on those elements.
Spaces RenewedBy removing a major wall, we were able to completely open up the kitchen and dining nook to the large family room and built in bar and wine area. The family room has a great gas fireplace with marble accent tile and rustic wood mantel. The matching dual French doors lead out to the pool and outdoor living areas, as well as bring in lots of natural light. The bar area has a sink and faucet, undercounter refrigeration, tons of counter space and storage, and connects to the attached wine display area. The pendants are black, brass and clear glass which bring in an on trend, refined look.

Landmark HomesThis grand 2-story home with first-floor owner’s suite includes a 3-car garage with spacious mudroom entry complete with built-in lockers. A stamped concrete walkway leads to the inviting front porch. Double doors open to the foyer with beautiful hardwood flooring that flows throughout the main living areas on the 1st floor. Go Modern FurnitureFurnish were instructed to initiate a complete design and source for a beautiful Regency apartment in Cheltenham.
The open plan kitchen, dining & sitting room was a delight to work with and the original Georgian architecture offered high ceilings, hand sculpted coving and working shutters. Recognising the need for consistency of design throughout the three separate areas the client requested a balanced combination of luxury and calm with an injection of edginess and colour.
Accent mustard yellows and punches of blues and pinks were chosen carefully to work with the other rooms in the apartment.
Seen here are the Saba New York Suite Sofa, Bonaldo Nikos Armchair & Bonaldo Lars Sofa.
Also seen here is a large-scale sculptural pendant by MARTIN HUXFORD that floats elegantly over the living area, grounding the symmetry and proportions of the overall space. A rug by RIVIERE RUGS and artwork by MIRANDA CARTER were also commissioned by Furnish. The calm and softness of the living space deliberately juxtaposes with the monotone, angular dining and kitchen area with its geometric dining table, chairs and floor lamp by TOM FAULKNER whilst subtly drawing on similar visual queues between the three areas.

From skiing in the Swiss Alps to water sports in Key Biscayne, a relocation for a Chilean couple with three small children was a sea change. “They’re probably the most opposite places in the world,” says the husband about moving
from Switzerland to Miami. The couple fell in love with a tropical modern house in Key Biscayne with architecture by Marta Zubillaga and Juan Jose Zubillaga of Zubillaga Design. The white-stucco home with horizontal planks of red cedar had them at hello due to the open interiors kept bright and airy with limestone and marble plus an abundance of windows. “The light,” the husband says, “is something we loved.”
While in Miami on an overseas trip, the wife met with designer Maite Granda, whose style she had seen and liked online. For their interview, the homeowner brought along a photo book she created that essentially offered a roadmap to their family with profiles, likes, sports, and hobbies to navigate through the design. They immediately clicked, and Granda’s passion for designing children’s rooms was a value-added perk that the mother of three appreciated. “She painted a picture for me of each of the kids,” recalls Granda. “She said, ‘My boy is very creative—always building; he loves Legos. My oldest girl is very artistic— always dressing up in costumes, and she likes to sing. And the little one—we’re still discovering her personality.’”

Fredman Design GroupThe juxtaposition of raw, weathered and finished woods with sleek whites, mixed metals and soft textured elements strike a fabulous balance between industrial, rustic and glamorous – exactly what the designers envisioned for this dream retreat. This unique home’s design combines recycled shipping containers with traditional stick-building methods and resulted in a luxury hybrid home, inside and out. The design team was particularly challenged with overcoming various preconceived notions about containers to truly create something new, luxurious and sustainable.
STEPHEN FLETCHER ARCHITECTSThe ground floor of the property has been opened-up as far as possible so as to maximise the illusion of space and daylight. The two original reception rooms have been combined to form a single, grand living room with a central large opening leading to the entrance hall.
Victorian-style plaster cornices and ceiling roses, painted timber sash windows with folding shutters, painted timber architraves and moulded skirtings, and a new limestone fire surround have been installed in keeping with the period of the house. The Dinesen douglas fir floorboards have been laid on piped underfloor heating.
