Design Solution GroupThe custom made vessels and the accent tiles were the inspiration for this bathroom. These pieces were custom made by the artist, Samuel L. Hoffman, a potter, based on our specifications, color and inspiration. The detail on the front of the vessels represents the perfect wave to be out in the ocean surfing! My client wanted an ocean/sea feel for his master bathroom and blue was his color of choice. The crystals in the accent tiles, makes the perfect representation of the deep sea with a beautiful perfect dark blue to match the outside of the vessels. The rest of the materials were carefully chosen to help bring the sea feel to it - the rocks, the wood planks and the "sea salt" wall tile. Each accent tile was specifically placed to balance the bathroom. The sink wall was carefully tailored - we remove some of the white liners and inserted glass blue liners strategically to bring the blue to the wall without taking over the vessels. The shower has a trench drain and is curbless to allow for a clean smooth shower floor. Bathroom has all the contemporary amenities my client was looking for!

Moving forward, you encounter the vanity area, featuring dual sinks. Each sink is enhanced by flattering vanity mirror lighting. This creates a well-lit space, perfect for grooming routines.
Balanced Contrast
Adding a contemporary touch, custom black cabinets sit beneath and in between the sinks. Obviously, they offer ample storage while providing each sink its private space. Even so, bronze handles adorn these cabinets, adding a sophisticated touch that echoes the bathroom’s understated luxury.
The journey continues towards the shower area, where your eye is drawn to the striking charcoal subway tiles. Clearly, these tiles add a modern edge to the shower’s back wall. Alongside, a built-in ledge subtly integrates lighting, adding both functionality and a touch of ambiance.
The shower’s side walls continue the narrative of the maple ribbon tiles from the main bathroom area. Definitely, their warm hues against the cool charcoal subway tiles create a visual contrast that’s both appealing and invigorating.
Beautiful Details
Adding to the seamless design is a sleek glass sliding shower door. Apart from this, this transparent element allows light to flow freely, enhancing the overall brightness of the space. In addition, a bronze handheld shower head complements the other bronze elements in the room, tying the design together beautifully.
Underfoot, you’ll find luxurious tile flooring. Furthermore, this material not only adds to the room’s opulence but also provides a durable, easy-to-maintain surface.
Finally, the entire japandi modern fusion bathroom basks in the soft glow of recessed LED lighting. Without a doubt, this lighting solution adds depth and dimension to the space, accentuating the unique features of the bathroom design. Located in the Cornfield Point area of Old Saybrook along Long Island Sound, this project brought a classic, yet forgotten beach house back to life. Through a little detective work and some creative ingenuity, we restored and enhanced the exterior to it’s former glory and transformed the interior to a highly efficient and functional home all the while uplifting its quaint cottage charm. On the exterior, we recreated a wonderful, airy front porch with cozy bench seats that look out to the water. The white cedar shingle siding is pre-bleached with a subtle flair at the bottom and a delicate break at mid-elevation. The asphalt shingles are not only beautifully matched with the siding, but offer superior reflective qualities to dissipate the heat of the summer sun. On the interior, we joined the front seasonal porch with the family room to form a larger, open living and dining space with paneled walls and ceilings anchored by the original round stone fireplace. In the rear, we carefully crafted a galley kitchen and laundry space with an adjacent first floor master suite. The diminutive house and property posed multiple practical and regulatory challenges which were overcome by a strong team effort, due diligence, and a commitment to the process.

HouseHomeThis was a complete gut & redesign of a master bathroom in Littleton, Colorado, with a goal of modern luxury spa. I believe that was achieved, and my clients couldn't be any happier with how it turned out!
Carrera marble floors are heated, which run into the closet to the right side. Custom doors were made for the closet and toilet rooms, recessed lighting in the ceiling in both spaces, and fabulous new light fixtures to add a gorgeous and warm atmosphere. Solid white quartz counters add an additional touch of luxurious clean, simple lines.
I wanted teak walls in this space. However, maintenance is quite a frequent challenge, so we settled on ceramic tile, which turned out to be above & beyond stunning! It is also extremely durable and virtually maintenance-free.
The frameless shower allows the gorgeous cuts of Carrera marble to beautifully show, in addition to the "wood" accent.
