Barbara Stock Interior DesignFour week renovation of a 1750 square foot residence in Monte Nido, an oak-laden equestrian hamlet in Calabasas, CA. The master bath and guest bath were complete renovations. The kitchen retained its cabinets, which were painted, and all else was replaced. The double sided brick fireplace is the focal point of the living room and kitchen/family room, enhanced by new engineered wood floors. The existing wood ceilings were painted white to lighten dark spaces, while the original beams were left in their sandblasted state. New French doors in the kitchen and master bedroom open to the back yard, where the arbor was painted white to lighten the space. Slate floors were added to the patio to enhance the spectacular outdoor fireplace, and enhance the serene outdoor dining experience. The home was minimally staged for sale, and sold in 30 days for close to its asking price.

Dans cet espace très contraint et soumis à de forts enjeux techniques, il s’agissait de dissimuler un WC et une machine à laver. Esthétiquement, le choix d’un traitement monochrome permet d’agrandir visuellement l’espace tandis que les matériaux naturels retenus (bois, béton ciré, pierre de rivière) apportent une chaleur bienvenue dans une pièce d’eau.
