UserWe helped stylish blogger Erin Hatzis - one half of Suburban Bitches - choose chairs for her new wood and iron dining room table from Restoration Hardware. The silver tabouret chairs she had paired with her old, farmhouse table just weren't working, and Erin needed sorting through the overwhelming number of options available online.
She had her eye on the handwoven, antiqued zinc CB2 Reed chair, and Decorist suggested layering in two Pascal Modern Shell Chairs from Overstock (with a sheepskin overlay for added comfort!) to blend the mid-century elements she had in her living room. Cabinet-S-TopIn this kitchen we refaced the existing kitchen cabinets. We removed the existing doors and drawers, and installed new Medallion Gold, Maple Providence Flat panel drawers and doors in White Icing and new hardware. The cabinet boxes were modified to allow for a double oven and self-closing hinges were installed. A desk area was transformed into a coffee bar by installing upper and lower cabinets with a bi-fold door on the lower section.

HAZEL Landscapes & EdiblesComplete front yard re-design, leaving only one existing dogwood tree. All plantings are watered using efficient drip irrigation but will be fairly drought tolerant once established. Spring bulbs are planted throughout, giving a spectacular show before the perennials start filling in for the Summer. Grasses and seed heads remain throughout the winter to add interest, structure, bird seed, and privacy.
Daze Design StudiosThis room already had cabinets lining the walls and budget wouldn't allow for removing them. We used White primer to paint the laminate cabinets and distressed them with Annie Sloan paint. Copper pipes were cut and fit to plumbing pipe connectors to fashion shelving brackets and hangers. An antique copper light was purchased from a second hand store to add a farmhouse vibe to this hobby/craft room.

Eugene Garden DesignAFTER: New iron brackets and inexpensive hanging baskets are planted with a mixture of marigolds, petunias and other flowering annuals that will grow to fill and spill over the edges of the baskets for months to come. Total budget for this project with five new baskets, five brackets and all the plants came in just under $100.

We took the walls down around the main vent chase to open the space to the dining and living room, removed soffits, and brought the kitchen up to date with taupe painted cabinets, a knotty alder island, black granite and Cambria Bellingham counters, a custom Edison bulb chandelier, stainless appliances and the stunning farm sink, and clean classic subway tile.
