The House, in a beautiful elevated position was very dated, cold and drafty. A major Renovation programme was undertaken as well as achieving Planning Permission to extend the property, demolish and move the garage, create a new sweeping driveway and to create a stunning Skyframe Swimming Pool Extension on the garden side of the House. This first phase of this fabulous project was to fully renovate the existing property as well as the two large Extensions creating a new stunning Entrance Hall and back door entrance. The stunning Vaulted Entrance Hall area with arched Millenium Windows and Doors and an elegant Helical Staircase with solid Walnut Handrail and treads. Gorgeous large format Porcelain Tiles which followed through into the open plan look & feel of the new homes interior. John Cullen floor lighting and metal Lutron face plates and switches. Gorgeous Farrow and Ball colour scheme throughout the whole house. This beautiful elegant Entrance Hall is now ready for a stunning Lighting sculpture to take centre stage in the Entrance Hallway as well as elegant furniture. The master bedroom has a gorgeous bed with nickel trim and is marked by a collection of photos of the family. The master bath includes Rohl fixtures, honed travertine countertops, and subway tile.

Duket Architects PlannersDesigned for a family with four younger children, it was important that the house feel comfortable, open, and that family activities be encouraged. The study is directly accessible and visible to the family room in order that these would not be isolated from one another.
Primary living areas and decks are oriented to the south, opening the spacious interior to views of the yard and wooded flood plain beyond. Southern exposure provides ample internal light, shaded by trees and deep overhangs; electronically controlled shades block low afternoon sun. Clerestory glazing offers light above the second floor hall serving the bedrooms and upper foyer. Stone and various woods are utilized throughout the exterior and interior providing continuity and a unified natural setting.
A swimming pool, second garage and courtyard are located to the east and out of the primary view, but with convenient access to the screened porch and kitchen.

We wanted to bring back the original layout of the house therefore we got rid of the bathroom and created a staircase with a landing in its original place.
Also, having a proper staircase rather than a spiral staircase was very important to create easy and comfortable circulation / movement around the house.
The sash window that you see above the landing is the original 136 year old timber sash window relocated from the master bedroom.
